One Thing Well is brought to you by freelance journalist Jack Mottram, who lives in Glasgow, Scotland and Jack writes for a range of newspapers and magazines. He also works for web design, development and hosting shop Surly, where the team create attractive, accesible websites.

Carbon would like to welcome Perfection Kills to the Code & Dev Circle. This blog, written by developer Juriy Zaytsev, serves as a place for him to explore JavaScript by example, delving deep into code to see what works, what doesn’t and why. 

Russian-born Juriy is now based in New York City and works as a freelance web developer, as well as a core developer for the Prototype.js JavaScript Library. He is a self-confessed junkie for clean code, and spends much of his work taming various aspects of JavaScript, focused on making it semantic and accessible. 

Through his simple, focused blog design, Juriy concentrates on in-depth analysis of his code, something which he is clearly very passionate about. Carbon now provides great brands to compliment his content-rich blog. 

Alex Young joins the Code & Dev Circle

Carbon is pleased to welcome Alex Young to the Code & Dev Circle. On his site Alex presents his current commercial and personal projects, alongside a blog where he writes articles about programming, posts about industry events, and shares his thoughts on current technology trends.  

By day, Alex is the lead developer and designer for Reuters Real Estate, but after hours he is the software engineer for his London-based web application firm Helicoid. Through his company Alex has built five highly-useful Ruby on Rails apps, including Helipad, an online note-taking application; time-tracking software TikTrac; and Deadline, “the simplest calendar ever made”. He also writes at DailyJS, a popular JavaScript programming blog.
